Summer Road Trip to Portland & the Oregon Coast!

Heading to Portland, Oregon? Excellent choice! We love this PNW city full of amazing neighborhoods, breweries, and coffee shops, plus there's tons of great places to eat in Portland. Every time we take an Oregon road trip, we just have to stop somewhere along the coast too, and this time we found a super affordable (and adorable) hotel!

Get inspired with these fun things to do in Portland and the Oregon Coast:

Where to Stay in Portland: The Ace Hotel

We love to stay at The Ace Hotel when we're travelling, every location is tailored to the city it's in and doesn't feel like a "chain" at all! The Ace Hotel Portland is walking distance to some of the best restaurants, bars, and shops in the city (not to mention Powell's bookstore!). We are obsessed with the happy hour at Clyde Common, the bar and restaurant attached to the Ace Hotel, and Stumptown Coffee is right next door.

There's a ton of places to visit in downtown Portland, some of our favorites are Blue Star Donuts, Teardrop for cocktails, Multnomah Whiskey Library (for whiskey, obviously), and Tasty n Alder for dinner.

If you want to chill, hanging out in the Ace Hotel's lobby is pretty great (as you can tell from everyone's Instagram feeds).

Where to Go in Portland

After exploring downtown Portland, we ventured over to the NE side on Alberta Street. There are so many good happy hours to choose from, and we really enjoyed our margaritas & tacos at Stella Taco!

If you're looking for a relaxing weekend getaway to Portland, you have to visit the Loyly Sauna. There are two locations in Portland, and we really loved the Northeast location (near Coava Coffee!). They have co-ed sauna days, as well as Women Only & Men Only days. We loved the flower petals foot soak, as well as the option to drink kombucha on tap while getting a facemask! Literally heaven.

Wondering where to go shopping in Portland? Wildfang is one of our favorite stores! They have both a happy hour and an awesome selection of curated apparel and home goods.

Union Way is a cool "arcade" full of artisanal vendors and lots of curated home goods, and we also love Woonwinkle Design Shop too!

If you're looking for chicken and waffles, head over to Irving St Kitchen in Portland's Pearl District or grab a delicious brunch just outside of downtown at Screen Door!

Road Trip to the Oregon Coast

After a few days in the city it was time to hit the road and explore the Oregon Coast! Seriously, one of the most beautiful places in the world. We stayed at the Ashore Hotel, which is located right along the beach in Seaside, Oregon.

The Ashore Hotel is super affordable and recently renovated, they have a small cafe and a great lounge area, plus they have free bikes for you to ride around on! It's the perfect spot for some relaxing, and we visited nearby Canon Beach as well.
