Where to Eat, Drink, and Adventure in Gibsons, BC

Gibsons, BC is the final stop of the BC Ale Trail, a roadtrip centered around craft beer, and it might just be our favorite spot! Gibsons is only a 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay, so if you're not able to commit to all of the BC Ale Trail, at least come here for a short weekend trip from Vancouver. Here are some of our favorite things to do in Gibsons, BC

Persephone Brewing

Persephone Brewing is a gem of a brewery, and they have cider too! It's definitely the hot local hangout, and they even grow their own hops on the farm! Their "Farm Fresh Beer" growler is definitely one to add to your collection. If you're hungry, you can enjoy some wood-fired pizza, or bring your own picnic! Persephone Brewing has a picnic license, so you can fill your growler and drink it on the farm with your picnic.

Get outside and go for a kayaking ride with Sunshine Kayaking! We went on a realllly long ride (about 10km), but you can do shorter ones too. Schedule an adventure for sunset and you'll end up with awesome, BC adventure photos.

Where to Stay in Gibsons, BC

We stayed at A Warehouse Hide-a-way, a beautiful bed and breakfast, which is one  street away from the main strip along the coast. How great is this big, bright loft and the amazing courtyard to chill out in?

Where to Eat in Gibsons, BC

Nova Kitchen is a great spot for dinner and drinks, and it's just around the corner from The Hideaway, with a gorgeous view over the water. We love The Black Bean local roastery for coffee and gluten free muffins to start the eday, and we loved our breakfast tacos at the Gumboot Restaurant. They also have a cafe next door, and the best yam fries and local beer.

We had such a great time exploring central Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast on the BC Ale Trail road trip! We will definitely be coming back to Gibsons soon, it's such a convenient trip from Vancouver and perfect for a sunny, relaxed weekend away.
